Special Hockey

Our flagship activity provides teens and adults with disabilities the opportunity to participate in a competitive, amateur-level ice hockey club. The program welcomes all athletes with disabilities, who wish to expand their knowledge and skills of this team sport through the support of experienced coaches and skilled peers. Trained coaches provide instruction on technique, positioning, fitness, rules and strategy. Activity is held October through May, weekly on Saturdays at the Ice Station Valencia, Valencia, CA This activity provides a weekly opportunity for participants to get regular, strenuous exercise, improving their overall health and well being. Participants have shown marked improvements in confidence and poise by mastering a sport most would have previously found out of their reach. Newly mined teamwork skills have shown marked improvements in discipline, communication and cooperation skills. There is no cost to join the program. Protective equipment is provided.
